Dr. Barton Moffatt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and a Co-PI on the MOSES project. A philosopher of science by training, Dr. Moffatt’s research focuses on ethical and philosophical aspects of science and technology. His peer-reviewed work examines ethical and conceptual issues in the biomedical and forensic sciences and the nature of scientific authorship. He brings wide experience in designing and teaching courses in applied ethics. He teaches the graduate level Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) course and is a facilitator for two non-credit research ethics seminars for the University community. In addition, he is the research ethics consultant, giving graduate students advice on research ethics matters through an email portal that maintains their anonymity.
